Between Theory and Practice: Preliminary Approach to Research in Higher Education in Bolivia

This preliminary study aims to identify the importance of research as a tool in higher education in Bolivia. Surveys were conducted with a sample of 100 participants, including professionals and university students from various fields, to obtain a broad perspective on its use. The results, statistically analyzed and graphically represented, show that 9% of respondents in pure sciences and political sciences had no research experience, representing more than 50% of the population in those areas. Significant differences were also observed regarding the qualities of current teachers: less than 30% considered traditional pedagogy efficient, over 40% believed teachers should be more innovative, and 30% suggested they should focus more on research. This work provides an initial perspective on the current situation of research in higher education, highlighting the absence of research experience even in scientific disciplines.
