The Comprehensive Risk Management of Disasters and the Universidad Columbia del Paraguay in the regional context

Abstract

Nowadays, the process of internationalization of the universities is a necessity, because it allows to share experiences in the different areas of educational management. The Department of Management and Risk Reduction of Universidad Columbia del Paraguay participated in two international forums related to the subject of its competence: one in 2017 at the Universidad Nacional Jorge Basadre Grohmann of the city of Tacna in Perú where was held the II International Interuniversity Forum "The University and its commitment in the Management of Disaster Risk and Adaptation to Climate Change", in which our project
“Hoteles Seguros, Alojamiento Feliz” a winner of a Small Grant from USAID with an economic support of $30.000, was presented through a video at a social responsibility roundtable. The second event was on september of 2018 at the "I I I International University Forum on Integrated Management of Disaster Risk and Adaptation to Climate Change" at the Universidad Nacional de Trujillo, in Trujillo - Peru. Successful experiences of comprehensive risk management
of disaster and adaptation to climate change were presented at both meetings by universities of the Americas especially in topics such as, institutional management, academic training, social responsibility and research.
