Columbia University’s School of Graphic Design took a big challenge back in 2012: “To be the first Paraguayan Graphic Design School run under academic competence bases”. Many changes took place ever since to fulfill this goal; one of which was to create the first Paraguayan Graphic Design History class. Although there is still not an official bibliography due to the lack of Paraguayan Graphic Design authors, both teachers and students have been working very hard since the very first class in 2015, to create an investigation based on the most important historical facts and the most recognized professional graphic and industrial designers in Paraguay. From this class we had been collecting this valuable information through the years. We finally have the chance to reach our first official publication in 2019, a previous step to the edition of the first Paraguayan design history book. The challenge was to sustain the investigation line through time; our goal is not to repeat content and move forward to the historical referent’s files. Untill now we’ve accomplished to ellaborate files for 35 Historical Paraguay designers.
