Beneficios del diseño de una ruta turística de interpretación cultural para la promoción y el desarrollo local de la etnia Enxet Sur, en el departamento de Presidente Hayes

Abstract

Within the five linguistic families of Paraguay, the Enxet Sur ethnic group corresponds to the Maskoy language linguistic family. There are currently 15 communities of the Enxet Sur people within the department of Presidente Hayes, distributed in 48 villages, with a total population of 7,284 inhabitants, of which 7,173 are in the department of President Hayes. Within this context, tourism is one of the economic sectors that shows greater dynamism and growth
worldwide. The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) defines it as: “a social, cultural and economic phenomenon related to the movement of people to places outside their usual place of residence for personal or business / professional reasons”. Cultural tourism is originated by the desire to visit and learn about the diverse manifestations of heritage, historical, monumental and cultural heritage of the different regions and countries that make up the planet. A Tourist Route is defined as the path or itinerary by which tourists or travelers can visit the different tourist attractions of a place. Currently, there are no tourism development projects in the region, nor programs to promote the Enxet Sur culture in the department of Presidente Hayes. The general objective of this research is to present the benefits of the design of a tourist route of cultural interpretation for the promotion and local development of the Enxet Sur ethnic
group in the department of President Hayes, where the specific objectives consist of; to theoretically base the design resources that the Enxet Sur ethnic group possesses in the department of President Hayes and diagnose the tourism potential presented by the department of President Hayes. The research is qualitative non-experimental descriptive, using a bibliographic investigation of the subject and then a field investigation based on observation records and interviews. According to the objectives set, the project aims to demonstrate the benefits that the Enxet Sur ethnic group could bring to the design of a tourist route of cultural interpretation, which allows for the knowledge and promotion of their culture and the economic and local development of their villages. It is intended that in the not too distant future, this research project may serve as an instrument for decision making by local and national authorities in order
to achieve an operational and practical execution of it.
