This article presents a project of artisanal production of toys and gifts, which reflects on the importance of modifying consumption habits and strengthening cultural identity as a development strategy. This project also contributes to understand crafts as a symbolic expression of a society, raising innovations in
product design and in production processes, based on comprehensive concepts of sustainable development.
