Abstract

The research addresses the problem of traditional methods in higher education that show limitations in sustaining student motivation and active participation, evidencing an initial or limited adoption of innovative strategies such as gamification at Columbia University of Paraguay - San Lorenzo Branch. The main objective was to analyze the status of gamification implementation in business programs and its potential to improve student engagement and classroom dynamics. A quantitative approach was used, with a descriptive-exploratory, non-experimental, and cross-sectional design, working with a sample of 181 students using structured questionnaires. Initial results indicate that students have participated in classes with gamification, with contests or trivia being the predominant type of activity experienced by respondents. These findings show an interest in an incipient implementation of gamification, suggesting the need to explore more diverse and formalized strategies to optimize teaching and learning.
